A documentary that could make your hair stand on end, this new film from Rebecca Cammisa ("God Is the Bigger Elvis") chronicles how in 1942, the U.S. government opened a processing center for uranium in downtown St. Louis to be used in the first atomic bombs. Radioactive waste was disposed of in suburban areas of the city, then dumped into the West Lake Landfill. Until recently, many residents near the landfill had no idea this waste had turned into a ticking environmental time bomb.
