Reba McEntire to host CMA Country Christmas

Although Thanksgiving’s tryptophan-fueled coziness still lingers in our hearts and bellies, the TV networks are ready to kick off the holiday season in full force. Check out a few of the new Christmas specials and holiday favorites airing this week, and find more of December’s festive favorites in TV Weekly’s four-page holiday guide.

Switched for Christmas, Hallmark Channel

A year after the death of their mother, estranged twin sisters (both played by Candace Cameron Bure) decide to swap lives until Christmas Day.

A Very Merry Toy Store, Lifetime
Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez star as the owners of rival family-owned toy stores who must transform their competitive rivalry into cooperation when a big-box store opens in their small town and threatens both businesses.

CMA Country Christmas, ABC

Reba McEntire (pictured above) hosts the eighth annual holiday music celebration from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, featuring performances from McEntire and some of country’s top stars.

Angry Angel, Freeform
Brenda Song stars as an angel who can’t quite get into heaven, and Jason Biggs plays himself — well, actually, he plays an angel who decides to come back to Earth as Jason Biggs to serve as an angel mentor.

A Very Pentatonix Christmas, NBC
Multiplatinum a cappella group Pentatonix presents their second holiday special, which
will feature a duet with Jennifer Hudson and appearances by Jay Leno and 13-year-old 'America’s Got Talent' winner Darci Lynne Farmer.

85th Annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center, NBC

This magical evening includes the lighting of New York City’s iconic tree and performances by Brett Eldridge, Jennifer Nettles, Leslie Odom Jr., Pentatonix, Gwen Stefani and the Tenors.

The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical

Holiday Celebration, ABC Julianne Hough and Nick Lachey host this event boasting performances by Ciara, Darius Rucker, Fifth Harmony, Fitz and the Tantrums, Hanson, In Real Life, Jason Derulo and Lea Michele.

'25 Days of Christmas' begins on Freeform. A few highlights of the network’s annual programming event including the original specials Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic and Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic.

Christmas in Evergreen, Hallmark Channel

Rachel Boston stars as an angel dispatched to a town that has lost its Christmas spirit. Paul Greene and Beau Bridges also star.
