A New Face Arrives at the Hospital in the Season Finale of "Chicago Med"

          In the season finale, “Love Hurts,” Robin experiences complications and a new face arrives at the hospital. The arrival of this new hot shot doctor at Chicago Med causing competition for Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell). Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) work together to diagnose a Syrian refugee without a medical record. When Robin (guest star Mekia Cox) is admitted back into the hospital for more complications, Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) takes a different approach to her treatment.

          Distracted from work because of Robin's worsening case, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) is challenged by Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and Noah (guest star Roland Buck III) hosts a graduation party that brings everyone together. Marlyne Barrett, Brian Tee and Yaya DaCosta also star. Ato Essandoh, Patti Murin and Eddie Jemison guest star.

 

         “Chicago Med” is an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city’s newest state-of-the-art trauma center and into the lives of the courageous doctors, nurses and staff who hold it all together. Dr. Will Halstead has to deal with the challenges of becoming the ER’s newest attending, chief among them supervising Dr. Natalie Manning, emergency pediatrics resident and longtime object of his affection. Rising star Dr. Connor Rhodes steps out of his comfort zone as he transitions into the cutthroat world of cardiothoracic surgery.

          Dr. Daniel Charles remains the Sherlock Holmes of psychiatry, while training neophyte intern Dr. Sarah Reese in the mysteries of the human mind. Former Navy flight surgeon Dr. Ethan Choi brings his battlefield skills to the front lines of Chicago’s busiest ER. Sharon Goodwin, the venerable head of Chicago Med, balances the pressure of running the city’s largest hospital against maintaining an atmosphere of quality care and compassion.

         April Sexton is a smart, bold and intuitive ER nurse dealing with an illness of her own as well as a relationship that might be moving too fast for her to handle. Maggie Lockwood is the confident charge nurse and the eyes, ears and brain of the emergency department. Ex-Chicago Fire stalwart Jeff Clarke, a face from Natalie’s past now working side-by-side with her as a fourth-year med student, and Dr. Isidore Latham, Connor’s strange and difficult new mentor.

         Together, they confront Chicago’s most critical medical cases and challenging ethical dilemmas with courage, compassion and state-of-the-art treatment. Inspired by ripped-from-the-headlines cases, “Chicago Med” weaves cutting-edge medicine with the personal drama that comes with working in such a high-intensity environment. Through it all, familiar faces from “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Justice” intertwine with Chicago’s finest medical heroes.
