This original movie starring Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Gallactica”) Marc Blucas (“Necessary Roughness”) and Lisa Durupt (“Murder She Baked”) begins at a mountain resort on Christmas Eve. Linda Young, a spirited single mom who’s lost her faith in love, meets Army Sergeant Bill McGuigan, a handsome single dad, when they bump into each other on a ski slope and feel an immediate chemistry.
After making plans to spend Christmas Day together with their children, Bill, a member of a special U.S. military task force, is suddenly called away on a mission. Though Bill leaves a message for Linda, explaining why he had to leave, she never receives it and believes he stood her up. Eleven months later, with the Christmas season back in full swing, Linda relocates to a small Oregon town and lands a managerial position at a bank. There, she is placed in charge of Operation Christmas, a bank-sponsored gift and toy drive, donating Christmas provisions to soldiers’ families on the local army base. Linda is shocked when her liaison — the man she must work with to launch Operation Christmas — turns out to be Bill.
Though Linda is at first reluctant to work with Bill, she soon warms up to him and feelings begin to develop as they help bring toys, gifts and Christmas trees to each home on the army base. Before long, Linda falls for Bill, but, as she opens herself to the possibility of love, she doubts her ability to manage the challenges of being an army wife. After Bill is called away for another military assignment, Linda arranges a Christmas Eve musical revue for the soldiers’ families and becomes inspired by friendships she makes with army wives and the sense of camaraderie they share. When Bill proposes marriage while on his remote military post, the young single mom reconsiders the idea of becoming an army wife, and must decide if she’ll finally take a chance on love for Christmas.
