In “Say it with Candy,” Cassie’s (Catherine Bell) ability for helping people find exactly what they need makes her beloved by her customers. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by Abigail (Sarah Power) – and not without a twinge of jealousy – who feels overlooked and invisible. Taking some of Cassie’s advice she conjures up a plan: sell chocolates with her own “special style of flair” and offer Cassie-like words of comfort and advice along with each box hoping to replicate her cousin’s success. Abigail’s frazzled customers begin to see surprising results with their problems and sales skyrocket. Meanwhile, Sam’s (James Denton) friend Liam (Seann Gallagher) from New York settles in Middleton with his teen son Noah (James Swalm).
Sam is excited for Nick to have an old friend around but is puzzled by his son’s lack of enthusiasm for Noah’s return. At a welcome dinner planned by Cassie and Grace (Bailee Madison), Nick reveals the root of his disdain for Noah and reveals the surprising truth behind an incident in their past. Meanwhile, Abigail can barely keep up with the demand for her magical chocolates and is exhausted by what it takes to maintain her new-found popularity. Drained, she substitutes ordinary grocery-store chocolates, gives customers the cold shoulder and her success fades away. When Grace shows Abigail that listening, offering advice and caring for each customer like Cassie does is what helps them find exactly what they need, Abigail realizes she has to decide if she wants to use her “special flair” and be the most popular store in town or return to the way things were before.
