Season Finale Wednesday, May 16 at 8 PM ET/PT on The CW
In the Riverdale season finale, “Brave New World,” with Fred (Luke Perry) trailing in the polls, Archie (KJ Apa) steps in to lend a hand in his dad's mayoral campaign. Veronica (Camila Mendes) stays one step ahead after uncovering Hiram's (Mark Consuelos) latest scheme. Elsewhere, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) finalizes her emancipation from her mother, while FP (Skeet Ulrich) makes a surprising announcement to Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and the Serpents. Finally, Betty (Lili Reinhart) confronts her darkest demons. Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick, Ashleigh Murray and Casey Cott also star.
Based on the Characters from Archie comics, the series previously found these characters reeling from the tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom, peeling back the layers of their hometown to reveal a place bubbling over with secrets, mysteries, and scandals. New to town, Veronica tried to atone for her “bad girl” past, while becoming fast-friends with Archie’s girl-next-door neighbor, Betty Cooper, who has done some growing up of her own.
After Archie’s rejection, Betty threw herself into running the school paper, “The Blue and Gold,” where she discovered a better romantic match in sardonic outsider Jughead. Under the guise of writing for the school paper, Betty and Jughead investigated Jason Blossom’s death—which led them to discover that Jughead’s father, FP Jones was involved with covering up Jason’s murder. Meanwhile, Jason’s twin sister Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) ruled the school as Riverdale High’s venomous, merciless Red Queen—until she learned the true identity of Jason’s killer. During this second season, the shooting of Fred Andrews has threatened to plunge the entire town into utter darkness.
