Premieres Friday, January 6 at 8 PM ET/PT on Food Network
“On Ginormous Food,” Josh Denny, a man with a big-eating plan, will visit local hot spots across the country to find oversize eats that the locals love. Pizza, bagels, burgers and more top picks — they're all on Josh's must-taste menu.
In the series premiere, “Louisville's Epic Eats,” Josh rides into Louisville to try his luck with a trifecta of magnificent meals. First, the Double Southern Belle at Mussel and Burger Bar, which sports fried green tomatoes, a full pound of black angus beef and several thick layers of pimento cheese. The Big Daddy Hot Brown at Gary's on Spring takes a famous Louisville dish and transforms it into a two-foot-wide, 10-pound masterpiece. Then, at the Come Back Inn, The Godfather makes a culinary offer he can't refuse: more than one and a half pounds of roast beef smothered in vegetables and marinara sauce, soaked in au jus, and served on a 12-inch roll!
In the second episode on January 13, “Philadelphia's Beasts of the East,” Josh hits his hometown, Philadelphia, on a hunt for the city's most ginormous foods. First up is the Whale, a 14-pound bagel leviathan overflowing with smoked salmon and white fish salad at Spread Bagelry. Then, there's a nine-pound super-hero sandwich that's a massive pile-up of bacon, pork and cheese at Jake's Sandwich Board. Topping it off is Car 23, a trolley-shaped loaf of French toast stuffed with berries and cream cheese at the Trolley Car Diner.
