CRASHING, created by and starring Pete Holmes, kicks off its eight-episode third season, drawing on Holmes’ own experiences as a comedian, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the world of stand-up comedy.
In the season three opening episode, Jaboukie, as his successful college comedy tour comes to an end, Pete takes a college-age aspiring comedian, Jaboukie, under his wing; Pete's return to New York finds him having an awkward reunion and a big audition at the Comedy Cellar.
Previously, feeling lost in the universe, Pete had an enlightening conversation with an atheist, started to question his faith and find his voice. With the help of Ali, a fellow rising comic, Pete explored the alternative comedy scene, a world of comedy nerds, apartment shows and no-drink minimums, where he begun to thrive. As he continued to lean on the hospitality of comedy greats, Pete explored all types of comedy, from benefit shows to the college market to roast battles. These diverse encounters tested his enthusiasm and optimism, but also promised to make him a better comedian as he tries to survive the competitive world of New York stand-up.
