“Trial & Error”
Premieres Tuesday, March 14 with back-to-back episodes
at 10:00 & 10:30 PM ET/PT on NBC

In the spirit of true-crime documentaries, this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy centers on bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal (Nicholas D’Agosto), who heads to a tiny Southern town for his first big case. His mission? To defend an eccentric “rollercizing” poetry professor (John Lithgow) accused of the bizarre murder of his beloved wife.

Settling into his makeshift office behind a taxidermy shop and meeting his quirky team of local misfits, Josh suspects that winning his first big case will not be easy, especially when his client is always making himself look guilty. The cast also includes Jayma Mays, Sherri Shepherd, Steven Boyer and Krysta Rodriguez.

The pilot episode will air at 10 PM ET/PT. When rollercizing poetry professor Larry Henderson (Lithgow) is arrested for the brutal murder of his wife, bright-eyed lawyer Josh Segal (D'Agosto) comes down from New York to the quirky town of East Peck, South Carolina to defend his first big case. After meeting his eccentric client and odd-ball team, Josh quickly realizes he's in over his head.

The second episode, “A Wrench in the Case,” airs at 10:30 PM ET/PT. In trying to find an alternate theory to Larry (John Lithgow) throwing his wife through the window, Josh (Nicholas D'Agosto) and his team discover another man's DNA in the bedroom, possibly leading to another suspect. Meanwhile, Josh is concerned about Larry's lack of emotion about the murder and his strange obsession with a skate wrench.
