Shortly after breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, Kylie (Lacey Chabert) reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Nick (Lea Coco) around the holidays. Nick, a divorced father, owns a local restaurant and seems to still hold a flame for Kylie. His newly rekindled friendship with her opens his eyes to the importance of Christmas traditions – especially for his son, Bobby (Brendan Sunderland).
Kylie continues her temporary job at recent ex-boyfriend, Alex’s (Lane Edwards) real estate company, despite being in an awkward position because Alex still has feelings for her. Kylie works hard to make money so she can pursue her real passion: baking. In hopes of saving enough money to open her own bakery, she lives with her sister, Tina’s (Lara Gilchrist) family, and every year, she enters a Christmas gingerbread house competition with a large cash prize. Two weeks before the big competition, she discovers that her entry has been accepted.
Kylie uses Nick’s restaurant kitchen to prepare for the competition, where she spends time bonding with Nick, Bobby and Nick’s friend and employee, Ralphie (Jonathan Adams). As they spend more time together, familiar romantic feelings begin to grow between Kylie and Nick – making decorating for the holidays and helping Bobby with a school party even more special. Will they eventually confess their feelings for each other and how will Kylie fare in the competition?
