After years of study and hard work, Maggie Marks (Merritt Patterson) has passed the NY bar and applies for her first job with a big law firm, thanks to an introduction made by her dad, a respected attorney himself. Maggie agrees to accompany her best friend on a trip to a picturesque European principality while awaiting the results of her interview.
A chance meeting leads Maggie agreeing to meet an exceedingly handsome stranger for coffee. What Maggie doesn’t know is that this “handsome stranger” is none other than Prince Adrian (Jack Donnelly).
In the midst of preparations for his coronation, Adrian slips out of the palace to meet up with Maggie and show her around his hometown. And when he reveals to Maggie his big secret – that he has established and runs a community center for Calpurnia’s less fortunate children that nobody knows about except for the children and families they serve – it becomes clear to her that he is someone special, and before long what began as a spark between them grows into something more.
Adrian invites Maggie to the palace to meet his mother, but the other nobility in attendance lose no time in letting Maggie know she is not one of them. Disappointed and upset, Maggie starts to realize that perhaps she doesn’t belong with a man like Adrian. Adrian, however, will have none of it, and as he and Maggie spend more time together, it becomes clear that they are truly kindred spirits, and are actually well suited to one another, despite the obvious class difference.
When a tabloid publishes an embarrassing photo of her and Adrian kissing, Maggie decides that she needs to put this holiday romance behind her, return to New York, and dig into her new life as a corporate attorney. Brokenhearted, Maggie tells Adrian goodbye and prepares for the return trip. However, when a surprise visitor arrives to speak with Maggie minutes before her departure, Maggie is faced with a new challenge ... just what does one wear to the coronation of the guy you plan to spend the rest of your life with?
