"Abuse of Power"
Premieres Saturday, May 12 at 7PM ET/PT on Oxygen

Hosted by esteemed television journalist Lauren Sivan, each episode of “Abuse of Power” will examine the twisted and true stories where people in positions of power and prominence took advantage of their authority to commit heinous acts of crime, all stemming from their control and unyielding power. Through emotional testimonials, never-before-seen interviews and dramatic reenactments, the series will reveal the sordid details of some of the most notorious cases of exploitation and highlight gripping firsthand accounts from the victims and their families who will stop at nothing to get the justice they deserve.

“I am excited to work on a series that contributes to the larger conversation we are having right now, holding those in power accountable for their actions,” said host of the series and television journalist Lauren Sivan. “We are living in an unprecedented time of accountability and this series makes it a mission to peel back the curtain on cases where individuals exploited their positions to disastrous and shocking results.”

From following the salacious case of Warren Jeffs, the infamous school principal turned polygamist cult leader who found himself on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List, to a formidable Atlanta Sheriff who used his authority to orchestrate murder after losing an election to the incoming Sheriff-elect – “Abuse of Power” will expose just how far those in power are willing to go in order to cover up their transgressions, as well as what happens when the law finally catches up to them, as they face the harsh realization that money, position and privilege won’t buy justice.
