The series provides us with a view of the ocean’s rare and dazzling creatures in a way never before seen on television. The programs examine an ocean that covers a third of the Earth’s surface. In the premiere episode, “Mysterious,” we will explore the mysterious depths of the Pacific, which doesn’t give up its secrets willingly. There are many unanswered questions we yearn to unravel.

PBS will air the second episode, “Violent,” on Wednesday, June 28 at 8 PM ET. We will come to understand how the Pacific, surrounded by the Ring of Fire, is the epicenter of natural mayhem. Violence is part of life in the great ocean, and creatures that live there must choose whether to avoid conflict—or rise to meet it.

On Wednesday, July 5 at 8 PM ET, the episode “Voracious,” will provide a view of how finding food drives all life in the Pacific. Meet a destructive army of mouths, a killer with a hundred mouths and the biggest mouth in the ocean. For creatures large and small, every mouthful counts.
