          With the country on the brink of Civil War, the struggle for freedom is more dangerous than ever. “Underground” tells the story of American heroes and their harrowing journey to freedom, with legendary humanitarian and abolitionist Harriet Tubman (newest cast member Aisha Hinds) blazing the trail.

          Labeled the “Underground Railroad, the trials and tribulations of this heroic secret escape network heads into season two with several new cast members, including a guest appearance by John Legend, who also serves as an Executive producer for the series. Also joining the cast are Chris Chalk and Sadie Stratton.

 

       In the season opener, "Contraband," the remaining members of the Macon 7 have made it North, but they've learned that freedom is not as simple as crossing a line.

          The cast of this powerful drama also includes Amirah Vann, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Alano Miller, Jessica De Gouw, Christopher Meloni and Amirah Vann. Season two begins with slaves fleeing a Georgia plantation.
